The Guide To A Manchester University Night Out

T

Although it has been a while since I went to university, I have kids now who have been talking me through what a Manchester student night looks like in 2024 and if you are a student who is unsure of what to do when you come to Manchester for a night out or for University, I will give you the small guide fo what to do and where to go, using my experiences and my children!

The Pubs

If we are being honest, the reason you are coming to Manchester is most likely for the nightlife. Being the second biggest City in England just behind London, which is one of the most famous places in the world. Manchester is almost like a smaller London but cheaper! What’s not to love?

When you are going out in Manchester there are a range of places for you to go to, whether you want a more sophisticated place or a cheaper student bar, you are not spoilt for choice.

Blues Kitchen

Over the last few years, Blues Kitchen has shot up in popularity with great marketing and people using it as a fantastic date spot. Blues Kitchen is known for several things, an intimate vibe, great live music, lovely food and delicious cocktails. It has everything you need for a night out.

My favourite thing about Blues Kitchen is the live music. I have been there a few times and one of the times I went there they had a live orchestra playing Radiohead which was one of the best things I have ever witnessed. Not only is it a fantastic spot in Manchester, but it is located in the middle and has many bars and other things surrounding it.

The last time I went there I had a few drinks and went to the local casino which is only a few minutes away and played some games. Even after having the casino I went back to the hotel and used FruitySlots lists casinos to play craps online which was a great end to a lovely night out.

Student Places

If you are there looking for a less sophisticated and cheaper night out, Manchester has you covered exponentially with it being one of the best student night outs in England. The two biggest student bars are Courtyard and The Garratt; these two are known for being filled with students and being cheap, which sounds like a good blend for a young adult.

The Garratt is where we will start as it is my son’s favorite of the two. The Garratt is located on Princess Road around a 5-minute walk from Gay Village which is a loved spot by Manchester Patreons and also close to Factory, a big club in Manchester. The Garratt is appealing to students as it is very cheap, with their main offer being 2 house doubles for £5 and 2 cocktails for £5. This is obviously very appealing to students and brings in massive amounts of them.

The other option is the Courtyard which is loved by students and non-students alike, with it being, again, cheap and busy. Another reason why Courtyard is loved is because of the sheer size of it, with it having a huge beer garden that can fit a 100+ people in, with its huge outdoor seating area being great for big groups of friends.

Once again, the location is great with it also being fairly close to Factory while being close enough to some student accommodations. The drinks are another big factor with their cocktails being a massive selling point. They sell a wide range of cocktail pitchers for around £9.50, (the pitcher being a little bigger than 2 full pints) as well as doing nice food and having screens for sports and pool tables for friendly games with your friends. What’s not to like?
